FRACTURE DYNAMICS OF AMG6 ALUMINIUM-MAGNESIUM ALLOY

Results of fracture dynamics research of АМg6 thin sheet in a range of strain rates from 10-3 to 103 s-1 are presented. It is revealed that presence of nanostructured surface layers on thin sheet of АМg6 leads to increase the dynamic strength and ductility in a range of strain rates from 10-3 to 103 s-1. The model modification is offered for the numerical simulation of a plastic flow and fracture of АМg6 alloy in a wide strain rate range for describing the processes of plastic flow and fracture of alloys with an fcc lattice, which include AMg6 alloy. Obtained experimental data on the mechanical behavior of the AMg6 alloy in a wide range of loading rates can be used for designing products and processes for their manufacture.
